Bad Tag?
I just spotted that there was a player called [ASF]Destroyer(WA) on-line but by the time I logged in they were not there. SP tend to be rather touchy about proper tags (for good reason) and this looks to me to be an improper tag. Not being an SP I cannot say for sure.
I do not know which player this is behind the name but I would suggest that they make some enquiries to the SP to see if this tag is allowable. My apologies if I am wrong here but better to check than get a character set up, only to find it needs deleting. Lt-Cornel Ancalagon the Black

RE: Bad Tag?
kk, I caught up with the player in question, {UAC}Destroyer. As UAC no longer exist, this is his new character. WA is Western Alliance.

RE: Bad Tag?
i dont want to be picky - but the tag [ASF] should be in the end of the name - otherwise it easily could be considered as clan tag...

RE: Bad Tag?
I started this post as I thought that this might be a newbie who was unaware of the tag system used and might be about to waste a lot of time creating a character that would need deleting.
As this is an experienced player, then I consider this to be a matter from the SP as they know what a legitimate tag is and I do not. Next time I bump in to this player I will tell him to check with SP and make sure he is registered with this forum so we can communicate with him. Lt-Cornel Ancalagon the Black

RE: Bad Tag?
Destroyer(WA) recently has joined IOC from the now-defunct UAC. He is from Croatia, as is (IOC)Bax. I told Destroyer about the tag issue, Bax is going to follow up with him; but it may take an SP to fully impress upon him the importance of a correct tag.

RE: Bad Tag?
hm... seems there is only one SP remaining online for now... well even the clan leaders should be able to point out the importance for the clan tags^^

RE: Bad Tag?
Quote:This is not the first time an eastern European player was passionate about their personal favorite expressions of loyalty... You misunderstood entirely the point of my comment. We just recently went through some serious anguish with the SP's over the (BUL) tag at the end of a character name (it happened to be an IOC recruit). SP's, and then OP, forbade the use of national tags on character names. It has been a common practice for many Eastern Europeans to prefer to identify themselves in their chararacter name, such as [HUN], (BUL), or even [GER]. I was making no value judgement about this practice, only making an observation about its prevalence. I have no issues with any nationality, as the diverse makup of IOC proves (1 Lithuanian, 3 or 4 Bulgarians, 2 Croatians, etc., etc.). |
